关于2月23日课程教室变动的重要通知

各位老师，家长和学生，

因Shaker Junior High school 学校扩建施工，一楼B区和C区现在已封闭在重新装修，所以原来一楼B区和C区的所有教室及生物奥赛班已搬到二楼新装修好的教室。

****请大家仔细阅读附件教室搬迁图（二楼）。标红色的是二楼新教室号码。标绿色的是课程名及原先教室号码。也就是说，在绿色号码教室的课程换到红色号码教室。以下是具体变动的教室及课程：

 

C区一楼有以下变动：

(1） 教室C106: 学前二班 & 数学1年级班➡️换到教室H228.

(2） 教室C105: 一年级二班 & 数学2年级A班➡️换到教室H227.

(3)  教室C104: 二年级一班 & 数学3年级班➡️ 换到教室H226.

Due to the expansion construction of Shaker Junior High school, classroom number starts with B and C on the first floor are now closed for renovation, so all those lessons held in room number starts with B or C before are now moved to the newly renovated classrooms on the second floor.

**** Please read carefully the attached classroom relocation plan (second floor). The new classroom number on the second floor is marked in red.  The course name and the original classroom number are marked in green. CS Weekly: 中文学校周讯— 2月20日

各位老师，家长和学生，

(1) 2月23日学校将恢复在shaker Junior high school 的教学工作。请老师和学生2月23日准时到校上课。

(2)谢谢大家积极参与学校的问卷调查。学校收到有效问卷235份，请看附件统计结果。

(3)校董事参考问卷统计结果，经投票决定2月23日学校恢复正常上课。学校老师除了正常代课安排好的，目前无人因担心疫情请假。家长请自行决定是否让孩子到校上课。

(4)请最近从国内回来人员严格自觉隔离14天，隔离期间请不要来学校，一经举报发现即勒令退学。

(5) 2020年全美SAT中文模拟考试将于2020年3月8日在中文学校进行。

(6) YCT将于2020年3月22日(周日）在华社1:00pm举行。

     美国会会在2020年4月1⽇开始进行人口普查。普查针对住在这个国家的每⼀个⼈，包括公⺠，非公⺠以及临时居⺠。您的问卷回复是简单而且安全的。⼈⼝普查数据影响每年超过 6750亿美元的联邦资金分配。社区依赖⼈⼝普查数据规划交 通设施，学校和紧急救援服务。商业利⽤⼈⼝普查决定在哪⾥建造工厂，办公楼和商业中⼼。亚太裔公共事务联盟联合普查机构为华人社区提供这次关于2020人口普查的解答讲座。

   （8.2）网络安全讲座：如何防范个人身份信息盗窃？

     主讲人： Alan Wang

     讲座简介：近年来，身份盗窃已成为越来越普遍的问题。根据国家司法统计局的数据，仅在2018年，就有超过300万起欺诈报告，其中欺诈投诉造成的欺诈总损失为14.8亿美元，比2017年增加了4.06亿美元。身份盗窃可以采取多种形式，从被盗的钱包中整个商店的数据泄露。为了保护自己，请发现有关身份盗用，常见原因，警告标志和预防提示的更多事实。

(1) The school will resume teaching at the Shaker Junior high school on February 23. Please attend school on time on February 23.

(2) Thank you for your participation in the school's recent survey. The school received 235 valid questionnaires, please see the statistical results in the attachment.

(3) With reference to the statistical results of the questionnaire, the school board voted to resume normal classes on February 23. Parents should decide for themselves whether to send their children to attend school.

(4) Those who have recently returned from China are required to quarantine for 14 days. During the quarantine period, please do not come to the school. Whoever violates this order will be suspended from the school.

(5) The 2020 Chinese SAT Mock Exam will be conducted in Chinese school on March 8, 2020.

(6) YCT will be held on March 22, 2020 (Sunday) at 1:00 pm at the Chinese Community Center.

(7) Please see the attached map. On February 23, the right section of the school gymnasium could not be used due to renovation. Therefore
 ******* Mr. Shi Yunfeng's basketball class and Mr. Luke's Kung Fu class will share teaching space in the left section of the gymnasium.
 ******* However, badminton clubs and adult dance classes will be cancelled.

     The 2020 Census is quickly approaching! The 2020 Census provides an opportunity for everyone to be counted. The federal government uses census results to distribute approximately $675 billion in federal funding annually. New York State receives billions dollars of those funds each year— more than half a trillion dollars over the life of the census count—to support education, health care, infrastructure, and other programs. Census results also determine the number of congressional representatives for each state and for state legislative redistricting.In partnering with Capital District Chinese Community Center, APAPA Albany Chapter is organizing an information and Q & A session to inform our local Asian Community and address any questions related to this important activity in 2020.

Abstract: Identity theft has become an increasingly prevalent issue in recent years. According to the National Bureau of Justice Statistics, in 2018 alone, more than 3 million fraud reports with $1.48 billion total fraud losses to fraud complaints, an increase of $406 million from 2017.  Identity theft can take a number of forms, from a stolen wallet to a store-wide data breach. To protect yourself, discover more facts about identity theft, common causes, warning signs, and prevention tips.

摘要： 结合儿童心理发展特点讲解家庭教育及亲子交往的重要原则与方法，促进儿童的心理情绪健康及健全人格的发展，使家庭教育、亲子交往更为愉快、有效，在孩子健康发展的同时，教师和家长也能收获更多的成长。

主讲人： 孙燕青博士 简介：奥尔巴尼大学教育学院高级研究员，北京师范大学发展与教育心理学博士，多伦多大学教育学院博士后。她的研究领域是儿童发展、技术环境下的交互学习，发表学术论文20余篇，专著3部，其新作 《爱是成长的指南针》 深受业内专家和广大家长、教师的好评。 作为一个三名孩子的母亲，孙博士致力于将理论融于实践，以加强家庭和学校对儿童教育的支持。

 Topic: Family Education and Children’s Development

Dr. Yanqing Sun is currently a Senior Research Scientist in the School of Education at the University at Albany, SUNY. She received her doctorate in developmental and educational psychology from Beijing Normal University and pursued post-doctoral study at the University of Toronto. Her research expertise focuses on child development and interactive learning in digital environment. She has published over two dozens of journal articles and three books, including her new book, Grow in Love, which has been highly reviewed. As a mother of three kids, Dr. Sun is passionate about integrating theories into practice to enhance parenting and school support for children’s development.

CS News: 《侨报》第八届美国少儿中文大赛通知

各位老师、家长, 大家好！

现接到《侨报》第八届美国少儿中文大赛通知，本届大赛主题：我的爱好（题目）

参赛对象：在美国出生或来美五年以上8-16岁的少年儿童，分为：儿童组（8-10岁）、少儿组（11-13岁）、少年组（14-16岁）三种组别。

字数要求：儿童组300字，少儿组400字，少年组600字。简繁体不限，电脑打字、手写均可，手写适当加分。

丰厚奖品：总决赛各年龄组设一等奖1名，可以获得价值500元奖品；二等奖1名，获得价值300元奖品；三等奖1名，获价值200元奖品，以及优胜奖若干名。

 

截稿日期：2019年11月17日

各位同学家长好！

本周日将迎来新学期开学的第三周，

1. Waiver 免责协议due on 9/29

请家长与孩子一起仔细阅读waiver后并签字，务必于本周日9/29日交回给本班老师或家长代表，否则学生将不能在中文学校上课。本周无法来上课的学生，请下次来上课时交给本班老师。

2. 点名

经过前两周，每个班级的人数已基本确定下来，同学们和老师也渐渐熟悉起来，老师将从本周开始点名，未报名的或还没交学费的学生将不能在教室里听课。还未支付学费的家庭，请尽快到学校财务处交费！如需要帮助，请到行政桌找校务人员。

3. Waiting list 将在本周内清理完毕，如果您选报的课程还需要做出任何调整，请直接到行政桌办理。

CS Weekly: 2nd Week - Waiver \ Trial lesson 免责协议\ 试课调课

各位家长, 同学们好！

上周日第一天开学，在PTA和众多家长的大力帮忙之下，买书报名引导教室都有条不紊的顺利完成。衷心感谢家长们和PTA以及行政人员的紧密合作和鼎力相帮！

1. Waiver 免责协议
今年租约里增加了惩罚性赔偿条款，中文学校需要对任何破坏赔偿1.5倍成本；如果我们违法任何条规，房东可以在五天书面通知之后取消租约。为了保证学校正常运行，学生有教室可以上课，今年将强制要求每一个家庭签署免责协议，了解清楚校规以及学生和家长的职责。本周日老师将免责协议发到每位学生手上，家长和小孩签字后，务必于三周以内9/29日之前交回给本班老师或家长代表，否则学生将不能在中文学校上课。
This year, the landlord has increased the rental and added the punitive damages clause to the lease, which is the Chinese school has to pay 1.5 times of cost for any damage incurs, and they can terminate the lease with five days written notice in the event of we breach any obligation. In order to ensure school safety, all the parents and students must sign the waiver and hand it to the room teachers by next Sunday 9/29. Otherwise, the student will not be permitted to participate in any program.

2. 试课/调课：本周日是学生最后一天试课，试完课决定报哪个班之后，请立即到学校行政桌办理登记或调课。第三周起各个班的老师会点名, 不在名单上的学生将不能在教室里听课。
This Sunday is the last time for the trial lesson. Once you choose a class, please come to Admin table to register or make a change. If your name is not on the class roster, you won’t be allowed to sit in the class from the next week.

3. 如果您还有孩子在waiting list，请务必到学校行政桌询问做出调整，下周以后学校将把waiting list 全部清除。
If your name is still on the waiting list, please come to the Admin table.  We will clear all the names on the waiting list in the next week.

4. Shaker 将在4:00准时关门，校工工作超时都需要中文学校来负担。再次强调安全第一，请大家务必在4点之前把孩子都接走，安全离开学校！
Shaker will close at 4pm. Safety is first！Your child must leave school with you before 4pm.

在此谨代表中文学校全体老师和校务人员欢迎大家进入2019-2020新学年。特别是新注册的学生家长，欢迎你们加入中文学校这个大家庭。

9月15日开学第一天，提请大家注意以下事项比较多，请耐心读完：

 

1. 时间和地址:

开门时间School Door Open：   12:40PM

第一节课1st Language class:         1:00PM- 1:45PM

第二节课2nd Language Class:         1:55PM- 2:40PM

第三节课3rd Culture Class:          2:50PM- 3:40PM

关门时间School Door Close:  4PM

上课地点: Shaker Junior High School @ 475 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12110-4698

请从餐厅的门进入，其他门只出不进。

 

2. Waiver 免责协议

经过去年礼堂屏幕破坏事件之后，今年除了租金略微上涨，租约里还增加了惩罚性赔偿条款，中文学校需要对任何破坏赔偿1.5倍成本；如果我们违法任何条规，房东可以在五天书面通知之后取消租约。为了保证学校正常运行，学生有教室可以上课，今年将强制要求每一个家庭签署免责协议，了解清楚校规以及学生和家长的职责。开学第一天老师将免责协议发到每位学生手上，家长和小孩签字后，务必于三周以内9/29日之前交回给本班老师或家长代表，否则学生将不能在中文学校上课。

 

3. 教室安排、handbook和注意事项：

1）Shaker正在扩建中，今年教室安排变化很大，请看附件。除了一楼的教室保留，我们也将用到一楼扩建部分和二楼的新教室。PTA将会设标识引导，并在门上贴上所在教室的课程名称和老师名字。如果找不到教室，请随时询问穿着黄马甲的PTA和值日家长。

2）第一节课老师会和学生过一遍校规并强调注意事项。特别是新教室非常漂亮，新桌子和新凳子都带有滑轮，巨大的电视屏幕取代了smart board，自动调光的LED灯。对于高大上的教室，第一，要注意安全，告诉孩子们不要坐在凳子上滑来滑去，以免意外撞到人或撞坏东西。第二，请家长一定嘱咐孩子，校舍是我们租用的，我们只能使用，不能搞任何的破坏，不能在桌椅上写字画画，不能动用教室里除了桌椅和白板之外的任何东西。任何破坏都可能轻则让学校赔偿加罚款，重则停止租约让我们没有地方上课。

3） 未经老师同意，家长不允许坐在教室里。上课期间，请家长们在教学区保持安静，不要干扰教学。下课后3：40pm请准时接孩子，4pm关门之后，学校有权收每分钟$5看管费。

 

4. 校务和PTA人员工作分配如下：

报名注册：徐健，陈建华, 孙旭峰，曹洪波，钟晔

学费缴纳：陈蓬，陈昱

课程咨询：王洁，鲁娜

教材出售：朱磊，雷奕，PTA

家长值日：童卫华和PTA

安全检查：PTA

 

5. 课程安排和家长

开学头两周，允许经试课班老师同意后试课，试好课要及时到校务处登记。两周后课程可能还会有些微调。在候补名单上的学生，请家长到注册处咨询校务人员。学校会根据注册情况进行相应调整，尽量满足学生的需求。

有些课程根据注册人数的多少，可能会增加、合并或取消。校务人员会及时通知家长。请各位家长保持联络畅通，特别是确保在学校注册网页上的电邮地址正确。

 

6. 课本出售

1）为了方便大家，学校统一采购，大家自愿购买，开学当天可以在餐厅购买，只接受支票和现金。

- Chinese Made Easy (adults)$55

- Payment methods: Cash or Check only

2）课本鼓励集体预先订购，请老师或家长代表9/14之前电邮朱磊副校长leizhu@hotmail.com预定数量，开学第一天派家长代表优先领取。

3）由于知识产权，教室内只能使用正版课本。

 

7. 停车

开学第一天，车辆比较多。请大家注意行人、特别是学校正门入口。不要停在学校大门入口处、消防专用道旁，避免阻挡其他车辆。请大家留5到10分钟的停车时间，就不会因匆忙之间找停车位而上课迟到。
