关于学期最后一天（5/24）的活动重要通知

各位老师，家长和同学们，

5月24日是本学年最后一天，以下是学校课程和活动安排表：

(1) 1:00pm-2:40pm 正常上中文语言课，没有第三节兴趣课。

(2) 2:50pm-3:50pm Kahoot 中文答题游戏活动。

    **2:50pm-3:00pm 是登录时间，3:00pm 之后系统将不接受参赛选手。

    ● 参加方式：ZOOM + Kahoot！（最好使用两台不同的设备，一台登录ZOOM，一台登录Kahoot)

    $$$$学校将根据游戏排名颁发Amazon E Gift card奖品：

5月24日学校举办在线游戏 - May 24th Online Activity

各位老师，家长和学生们，

 

本学年的最后一天是5月24日. 因疫情所限，本学年中文学校最后一天不能举办field day的传统活动。我们将活动移到线上，展开一场头脑运动会。

 

******活动时间：5/24 3:00-3:30PM

******全校学生都可参加

******参加方式：ZOOM + Kahoot！（最好使用两台不同的设备，一台登录ZOOM，一台登录Kahoot！）

        ZOOM meeting ID：841 893 6691

参加步骤：

1.以家庭为单位，全家总动员，每家用一个账户加入ZOOM会议，以接收Kahoot！的Game PIN。请注意，ZOOM会议和Kahoot！都有100个账户的限制，故只有100个家庭可以参加这次活动。

2. ZOOM发送Kahoot！ Game PIN后，请打开Kahoot！设置自己家庭的用户昵称（昵称中请包含家中某个在中文学校就读的孩子的名字及班级）并输入Game PIN，等待游戏开始。活动过程中，不要关闭ZOOM会议，否则将无法接收到通过屏幕共享显示的题目。

3.活动时长30分钟左右，共50道题目，每题用时25秒左右。题目均使用中文表述，内容涵盖马立平中文从一年级到六年级的生字词、课文、阅读材料及相关文化常识。题目类型包括单项选择题和判断正误题两种。

4.学校将根据参赛情况及比赛结果，给成绩优异的家庭颁奖。因此，请务请务必填写正确的名字及班级，以便学校确认获奖家庭信息。

Chinese School will hold an on-line Chinese Game on the last day of school.

******Game Date & time : May 24th  3: 00PM-3: 30PM

******All students are welcome to participate

******How to participate: ZOOM + Kahoot! (It is recommended to use two devices, one for log on ZOOM and another one for Kahoot!)

Game Rules:

1. Join the ZOOM meeting with one account per family to receive Kahoot! Game PIN. Please note that ZOOM meeting and Kahoot! only can have up to 100 families to log in.

2.  After ZOOM sends Kahoot the Game PIN-> open Kahoot!->Set up the user's name by including the child name and Chinese class the child attended-> enter the Game PIN and wait for the game to start.

3. The game takes about 30 minutes with a total of 50 questions, each question takes about 25 seconds. The questions cover the words, phrases and articles in Liping Ma text book from Grade 1 to Grade 6.

4. Prizes will be awarded.

关于5月份课时和活动的重要通知 - Important Notice for May Classes & Last day of School Activities

各位老师，家长和学生们，

（1）本学期最后一天将改为5️/24。

    纽约州长Andrew Cuomo五月一日宣布，全州的公立和私立学校都继续停课至本学年结束。因此，中文学校本学年将不返回Shaker Junior High School 实体教学。中文学校将持续在线教学到5月24日最后一天 。（请注意校历上原来安排的是5/31为最后一天，但根据疫情，现调整到5/24上课。而且5/24最后一天，只有第一二节课，没有第三节文化课）

    请注意，根据本学年教学课时要求：️

    ***最后一次中文课（第一二节课时课程）是5月24日。️

    ***最后一次文化课（第三节课时课程）是5月17日。 

（2）5️/24为了庆祝学期结束，学校将举办以下线上活动，具体时间及细节将会随后公布： ️

    ***活动1: 在线游戏(全校学生均可参加）。️

    ***活动2: 特邀今年高中毕业生介绍申请大学的经验交流会。 

在这段空前特殊的时期里，为了保证教学的连贯性，学校教学安排及活动也随之应变调整。在此感谢大家一直的理解和支持。

Dear teachers, parents and students, 

(1) The last day of the semester will be changed to 5️ / 24. 

    New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on May 1 that public and private schools across the state will remain closed for the rest of the school year.Therefore, Chinese school will not return to Shaker Junior High School for onsite teaching this school year. The Chinese school will continue to teach online until the last day May 24th. (Please note that on the school calendar, 5/31 was the last day, but according to the epidemic situation, it is now adjusted to 5/24. And on the last day of 5/24, there are only the first two classes and no third cultural class).

    ***The last Chinese class (the first and second class) is May 24th. ️

    ***The last cultural class (the third class course) is May 17th. 

(2) To celebrate the end of the semester, the school will hold the following online activities on May 24th, the specific time and details will be announced later:

    ***Online games (all students are welcome to participate). ️

    ***A seminar that High school graduates sharing their experiences of applying for colleges. 

In this unprecedented period, in order to ensure the continuity of teaching, Chinese school teaching and  activities have also been adjusted accordingly. Thank you for your continuous understanding and support.

请看附件中文学校毕业申请条例和申请表。

请符合毕业申请条件并需要申请今年五月份毕业的学生把以下材料递交到 albanychineseteaching@gmail.com 

(1)填写好的附件毕业申请表 

(2)一张正面大头照 （学校将用于年刊）

截止日期是４月２５日。

学校收到后，将由毕业评审委员会审批是否准予毕业。

因疫情特殊时期,今年毕业证书将会先发电子版，秋季开学后学生可以到学校领取印刷好的正式文本毕业证。

绘画比赛延期到9月份- Art Contest is posted to this September

原定于三月截止日的中文学校绘画比赛延期到今年9月份。

【比赛主题：我爱中文学校】

比赛免费参加，中文学校学生均可参加。

不限工具和形式：素描、水彩画、蜡笔画、油画, 笔画等均可。

 

The Chinese School Art Contest, originally scheduled for the March deadline, was postponed to September this year.

The competition is free of charge and all Chinese school students can participate.

It can be any form: such as sketch, watercolor, crayon, oil painting, etc.

中文学校周讯 CS Newsletter-03/13/20

各位老师，家长和学生，

(1) 据于当前疫情情况，原定3月22日中文YCT考试将延期,具体时间学校会及时通知大家。

(2）从3月15日起，以下课程开始网络授课，上课时间是周日下午2：50 到3：40。老师会给家长发放网络课程的链接和ID。如果上课前您还没有收到，请直接联络老师。  

     (i) 绘画1B班

     (ii) 辩论（debate）班

     (iii) 数学班

**请注意数学班不提供录音和补课服务。由于板书解题困难的限制，加上是小老师们第一次尝试网上教学，可能效果会达不到最理想的要求。请家长们给予小老师们理解，支持和鼓励。

在这特殊困难时期，感谢老师，家长们和学生们在有限的资源条件下齐心协作，相互理解，携手努力创造良好的线上学习氛围。

(1) According to the current epidemic situation, the Chinese YCT test originally scheduled for March 22 will be postponed. The school will inform you of the specific time.

(2) From March 15th, the following courses will be taught online, and the class time is  from 2:50 to 3:40 on Sunday afternoon. The teacher will send parents link and ID of the online course. If you have not received it before class, please contact the teacher directly.

    (iii) Math Class

**Please note that math classes do not provide recording and make-up services. Due to the limitation for black-boarding and first time on-line teaching for those high school students, the results may not meet the optimal expectation.Your understanding and support would be appreciated.

     感谢大家参加学校的问卷调查，共收到192份有效问卷， 81.25% 的家庭选择网上教学. 学校根据调查结果和当前疫情形势， 决定3月1日，3月8日和3月15日为网上教学。各语言课老师会通知家长网上上课的链接。 学校不能保证所有第三节课能网上教学， 如有问题，可以直接联系您的老师。

Dear Teachers, Parents and Students.

(1) Online classes will be held on March 1, March 8 and March 15.

     Thank you for participating in the school's questionnaire. A total of 192 valid questionnaires were received. 81.25% of families voted to online classes for March 1st, 8th and 15th. Based on the survey results and the current epidemic situation, the school decided to have online classes on March 1, March 8, and March 15. Teachers of each language class will inform parents of the link to the online class. The school cannot guarantee that all non-language lessons will be delivered online. If you have any questions, you can contact your teacher directly.

(2) The Chinese school is closed on March 22 and there are no lessons that day.

(3) The Chinese SAT mock exam will be held at Chinese Community Center on March 8th:
