大家好！

中文学校将于9月15日正式开学。

学校是以义工为基础运行的非盈利性组织机构，需要每一位家长的热情参与和帮忙。开学头几周，我们需要大量人手帮忙以保证学生的安全和学校的正常运营，请家长们积极报名值日，值完日领回PTA 押金$50，每一学年每家只需要值日一次。

由于学校将设计新的网站，所以PTA 值日暂时通过华社网站登记。以下是中文学校家长9 月份值日登记通知，每个值班家长可以自愿选择登记以下任何一个值班任务，值日完将领回您的$50押金。

 

The first day of Chinese school will be on September 15th, 2019. We need a lot of help from parents. Since we are planning to have a new website, the PTA duty will be sent out through CCC website. Below is an upcoming PTA Duty registration information, each parent should sign up one of the following duties：

中文学校夏季活动通知：6/30 ValleyCats的职业棒球比赛

为答谢老师家长和同学们一年的付出和努力, 学校为大家组织观看一场ValleyCats的职业棒球比赛。比赛六月三十号（星期天）进行。当天比赛于下午5点开始,赛前赛后孩子们可以在场上跑垒玩耍，赛后有烟火表演, 适合家长带上小朋友和亲友们一起观看！

每张门票包括1个高级舱位+ 1个热狗+ 1个苏打水！ 座位有限, 请抓紧时间预订!

   由Youth team 组织Field Day 玩游戏赢奖品，欢迎所有8年级以下学生参加

3) 12:30-2:00pm @Gym B（成人篮球俱乐部场地）
   石云峰教练组织篮球罚篮比赛，大人小孩都可以参加

   - 罚篮比赛规则： 8岁以上免费参加。欢迎家长参加，每十个罚篮donate 5元奖金。
     预赛阶段（12:30-12:50pm），罚十次篮记录进球数。每个参加者取最好成绩（家长-2， 意思就是大人10罚中9算7个球）。
   - 决赛阶段（取成绩最好的至少两名参加者）PK。直到最后一名胜利者。
     获胜者将得到中文学校提供的50元奖金还有家长donate的奖金。
   - 罚篮结束将继续 kids' pick-up game.

4) 02:00-3:30pm @Auditorium 石云峰教练组织看电影《未来机器城》，NextGen，
是由阿里巴巴影业集团、万达影视传媒有限公司出品的科幻冒险动画电影。Netflix 去年斥资三千万美元购买了全球发行权。欢迎带睡袋，blanket席地而坐欣赏电影. 为不影响其他观众，在电影开始后，如需进出，请走后门（后门的进口在二楼）。前门将关闭。


4. 华社by-law 修订
1) 12:30-1:45pm@ Auditorium 华社by-law 修订说明会
2) 01:45-3:00pm@ Auditorium 门口设投票箱， 全体会员公投新版by-law。如果公投通过， 7/1/2019 就开始采用新版，全体现有董事总辞，重新选举。

Organized by the Youth team, everyone is welcome to take their books to school for exchange or donation. After you donate the book, you will get a ticket that records the number of books you donated.

The Youth team organizes Field Day to play the game and win prizes. All students under the 8th grade are welcome to participate.

3) 12:30-2:00pm @Gym B (Adult Basketball Venue)
Shi Yunfeng coach will organize a basketball free throw game, both adults and children can participate

4) 02:00-3:30pm Movie: NextGen @Auditorium

CCC town hall meeting and the voting to rectify the 2019 edition bylaws.

Here is the list for 2019-2020 math classes：

• Math 1 – For Grade 1

• Math 2 – For Grade 2

• Math 3 – For Grade 3

• Math 4 – For Grade 4

• Pre Algebra – For Grade 5, 6 and 7, prepare mathcounts

• Intro Algebra – Kids who took pre-algebra before prepare AMC test

• Geometry - Kids who took pre-algebra and Intro algebra before prepare AMC test

• Counting and Probability -Kids who took pre-algebra before high-level AMC test

• Debate Class

 

数学班报名说明

 

1. Pre-registration: 5/25-6/02 @学校网站上预报名

 

- 数学班只在此阶段接受报名，过期无补。6/2之后网上报名将关闭开始面试阶段。

- 每个数学班接受至多30名学生预注册，面试后每班只保留10名学生。

 

2. Interview: 6/8-9 或6/15-16 两个周末@华社

 

- 陆群老师会电邮通知预报名学生这两个周末在华社面试的时间。

- 如果您无法按照通知的时间参加面试，请接到电邮通知后立即联络陆群老师。陆群老师电邮：shen4@yahoo.com

- 面试只以电邮方式通知，请确保您在学校网站注册的是有效电邮地址。

 

3. Final result: 6/30之前电邮通知

 

- 面试之后，陆群老师会电邮通知您的孩子是否被挑选进入数学班。

- 没有被选进的学生，请登陆中文学校网站重新注册别的课程。随后数学班也将关闭，不再接受报名。

Math Classes registration

 

1. Pre-registration: 5/25-6/02 on Chinese school website

 

-  Math class will open pre-registration up to 30 students before 6/2, and then select 10 students for each class.

-  The parent can register your student math class only during that period. After 6/2, we will close the registration and begin the interview processes     

 

2. Interview: 6/8-9 or 6/15-16 weekends at CCC Building

 

- There will be two interview sessions for all pre-registered students at CCC building.

- Ms Qun Lu will email you the interview time slot. If you can’t make it on the assigned time, please email her. Ms Qun Lu’s email: shen4@yahoo.com

- The interview notice will be sent out by email only. Please make sure your email address in school system is valid.

 

3. Final result : will be released before 6/30 by email

 

-  Ms Qun Lu will email and inform whether you have been selected into math classes.

-  If you are not been selected, please login in Chinese school website and register other classes.

The Chinese School Youth team will be hosting a book drive and book trade throughout the next two weeks. We invite everyone to bring in old books that they are willing to donate to Chinese school this week. For each book donated, you will receive a ticket which can be used to get a book the week after during Chinese school. Any and all forms of books are appropriate, from novels to test-prep books. Please bring them to the cafeteria this week during Chinese school, where each book will be exchanged for a ticket worth one book the week after. Thanks! 

 

4. Students who are participating in the drawing competition, please come to get back your art works.

 

5. Yearbooks have left limited quantity available for purchasing from PTA, $5 each.

2019春季YCT考试将于本周日5月12 日在学校举行，五六年级和CSL参加YCT考试的学生请自带两只2B铅笔和橡皮于@12：50pm，准时进入考场，

CS Weekly: Schedule of the last few weeks

大家好！

1. 经过与Shaker协商，中文学校6/2将补一次课。剩余几周安排如下：

1)  5/05 正常上课 @1-4pm

2)  5/12 正常上课 @1-4pm

        1:00-2:45pm大学申请讲座和毕业典礼@礼堂

        1:00-2:40pm 5年级YCT 考试

        2:50-3:40pm B208中文教师培训，由林艳玲老师分享《游戏学中文》

3)  5/19 正常上课 @1-4pm

        2:50-3:40pm School Council meeting@C205

4)  5/26 Memorial week 放假，没有中文学校

5)  6/02 本学年最后一天@ 10am-4pm. 

        早上10:00开始上课，只有中文课和Coding by Mr. Rennie，没有文化兴趣课；中午聚餐之后，下午在Gym 由Youth team 组织Field Day. 

 

2. 生物奥赛班陈海军教授本周六5/4 @7:30-9:30在华社举行一个简单的生物奥赛说明会。请参考附件Flyer.新的USABO课程是以获奖为目标，需要相应级别的时间和财力投入。抱着试试看的家长，请慎重考虑是否花时间来参会。

 

3. 请参加绘画比赛的同学，本周到PTA处领回自己的作品和领取奖品。

Hello everyone!

 

1. After discussed with Shaker, Chinese school will add 6/2 as the last day. Please see the schedule for the last few weeks:

1)  5/05 As usual@ 1-4pm

2)  5/12 As usual@ 1-4pm

        1:00-2:45pm Graduation Ceremony and college seminar @Auditorium

        1:00-2:40pm YCT exam for 5th graders

        2:50-3:40pm Teacher training by Ms Nia Lin @B208

3)  5/19 As usual@ 1-4pm

        2:50-3:40pm School Council meeting@C205

4)  5/26 Memorial week holiday, no Chinese school

5)  6/02 The last day of the school year 10am-4pm.

        School will begin at 10:00am, language classes and Coding class by Mr. Rennie only, NO culture classes. After lunch, the Field Day activities will be organized by Youth team in Gym.

 

2. 5/4 @7:30-9:30pm US Bio-Olympic info night. by Prof Haijun Chen @ CCC building. Flyer is attached. 

 

3. Students who are participating in the drawing competition, please come to collect your art works and prizes from the PTA this Sunday.
