感谢大家在刚过去的2021-22学年对于中文学校各项工作和活动的大力支持和热情参与！我代表中文学校行政团队向大家表示衷心感谢！过去的一年，疫情带来的挑战依旧严峻，在中文学校大家庭各位成员们的鼎力配合下，我们完成了本学年的各项教学任务，顺利为疫情后第一年的实体授课画上了圆满的句号。

暑假期间，请家长督促孩子完成暑假作业，继续中文学习，为新学年取得更大的学习进步打下坚实的基础。

展望新学年，由于疫情等原因造成的学生流失，以及由其带来的财政挑战依然严峻。有几位老师由于各种原因，无法继续在新学年为中文学校和社区服务，我们期待新学年里，更多的社区热心志愿者加入我们的教学队伍，为教授孩子们中华文字和传承中华文化奉献您的聪明才智。

我们衷心希望，在新学年里中文学校能够得到当地华人社区一如既往的支持，把我们共同的精神家园继续经营得有声有色。

The following is the schedule for the last day of school (5/22/22):

🔹10:00am-11:30am : Chinese language class/Python intermediate, no recess, no extracurricular class.

🔹10:00am-10:15am: Chinese School Graduation Ceremony (Location: Auditorium)

🔹Starting at 10:15am: College Application Forum presented by high school graduates (Location: Auditorium)

🔹Starting at 11:30am : Lunchtime. Each class can organize its own class potluck in the cafeteria, the school only provides tables, disposable utensils, and water. If parents and students would like to participate in the class potluck, please let your teacher know.

🔹Starting at 1:00pm: New teacher introduction session (Location: Auditorium) Parents are welcome to come and listen.

🔹Starting at 1:00pm: Field Day (Location: GYM) Youth team has prepared a variety of fun games and prizes. All students are welcome to participate.

陈氏奖学金由陈凌曼立女士及其家人于2022年捐资设立，提供全额奖学金给对中文学习充满热情和品学兼优的学生，开放给所有纽约首府华社中文学校的学生。

💵奖学金金额：2022-2023学年中文课全部学费 + 课本费
奖学金份数：6人
资助对象：家庭年收入税前低于10万美元
🗓申请截至日期：2022年8月20号

✏️申请者需要提供以下材料：
1. 申请材料一份（中英文均可），表明对中文学习的热情。
2. 中文学校老师的推荐信一封。
3. 中文学习成绩优异，需提供中文学校成绩单。
4. 家庭收入证明。
5. 有参加华社义工服务的优先考虑。

奖学金评审委员会：由陈氏家人，中文学校校长和两位资深教师联合负责评审。

Chen's Scholarship

Mary Ling Chen and her family established Chen's Scholarship in 2022. This scholarship is open to all Chinese Community Center (CCC) Chinese School students, who must have passionate about Chinese language learning, be excellent in Chinese courses, and demonstrate financial need.

💵Amount Awarded: 2022-2023 academic year full tuition of Chinese classes + textbook fees
ℹ️Application Eligibility: Households with annual income less than $100,000 before taxes
Number of Awards: 6
🗓Application deadline: August 20, 2022

✏️Applicants need to provide the followings:
1. One application essay (in Chinese or English), showing enthusiasm for learning Chinese.
2. A recommendation letter from a Chinese school teacher.
3. Excellent grades in Chinese class, Chinese school transcripts are required.
4. Proof of household income.
5. Those who have participated in volunteer services in the Chinese Community Center are preferred.
