The Chinese school will not be in session on November 12, but the school will hold the annual Chinese Storytelling Competition in the auditorium. Everyone is welcome to come and watch. Young audiences can participate in fun spelling bee games with prizes.

(2) 11/5/23 因学校 Auditoriun 有Shaker MiddleSchool 表演，需要场外保持安静。请师生在课间休息时间不要奔跑喧哗.

(3) 学校每周日会在行政桌附近举办BOOK DRIVE， 捐赠你的旧书，交换同样数量的书籍， 或者购买所需书籍给您的孩子（$2.以下是图书捐赠门类：

(4) 11/12/23： 不上课，但是中文讲故事比赛在学校的Auditorium 举行 (1:00pm-3:30pm)，欢迎非参赛选手来观看，不仅可以欣赏参赛选手的精彩表演，观众还可以参加有奖趣味识字游戏。

(2)11/5/23 Due to there is a performance by Shaker Middle School in the school auditorium which requires no disturbance. Teachers and students are asked not to run or make too much noise in the Hallway during breaks.

(3) The school will hold a BOOK DRIVE every Sunday near the administrative desk. Donate your old books, exchange them for the same number of books, or purchase the books ($2). The following are the book donation categories:

(4) 11/12/23: There will be no classes, but the Chinese storytelling competition will be held at the school auditorium from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to watch. Not only can they enjoy the wonderful performances of the contestants, but the audience can also participate in fun games with prizes.

When: Sunday, October 22nd  from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

If you have gently used Halloween costumes, please bring them to donate!
If you're shopping for Halloween costumes, come and explore for only $5.00/each (more donation is welcomed)!

All proceeds go to Chinese school teaching and activities.

（1）🔥10月15号中文学校将进行防火演习fire drill，预计1:30pm开始，持续20-25分钟，因此第一二节课中间的课间休息讲取消，演习结束后学生请回到教室继续上课至第二节课结束。📎请见附件fire drill的步骤，和floor plan上标注的指定的疏散集合地点（Exit A, Exit B, Gym Exit & Outside Cafeteria Exit)
请学生及家长届时听从教师及conductor指挥，有序疏散，严格按照演习步骤操作。谢谢配合！

（2）🙋10月15号各班级老师将会按照注册记录对上课学生点名核实，如您的孩子还没有注册课程，讲不允许下节课上课。请家长速到学校行政桌办理注册课程手续。

（3）🎙️10月29日是中文讲故事比赛报名截止日期。中文讲故事比赛将于11/12/23 1:00pm 在中文学校大礼堂举办，这次比赛允许所有中文学校学生报名参加， 请想报名参加的学生们尽快向本班中文老师报名。

（4）🎃10月29号中文学校举行万圣节游行和Trick or Treat, 欢迎大人及孩子们那天着穿万圣节礼服来校！

Registration for the 2023-2024 Chinese School Storytelling Contest is now open!

This year, we have expanded participation to include all Chinese school students, from preschool, kindergarten, CSL, 1st to 9th grades, and even Chinese AP students.

Purpose: The primary objectives of the Chinese Storytelling Contest are to cultivate students’ interest in learning the Chinese language and culture, enhance their proficiency in delivering oral presentations in Chinese, and enable them to express themselves fluently and accurately in Chinese.

Participants: This contest is open to students in Chinese schools. If you wish to participate, please register with your class teacher . The contest will feature three groups:

1. Chinese Preschool through 2nd Grade, CSL classes
2. Chinese 4th Grade through 5th Grade classes
3. Chinese 6th Grade & Above classes

Competition Date: November 12, 2023 (Sunday)
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Location: Auditorium, Shaker Middle School, 475 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Latham, NY 12110

Suggested Topics: We encourage participants to choose short Chinese culture-related stories, such as Chinese idiom stories, short Chinese history tales, Chinese riddles, Chinese ancient poems or children’s folk songs (for young students), or lessons learned from their classes. Each class is advised to select up to 4 stories for presentation, with a maximum presentation time of 4 minutes per story.

Participation Registration Deadline: October 29, 2023, at 11:50 PM.
