Chinese storytelling contest registration starts now!

Registration for the 2023-2024 Chinese School Storytelling Contest is now open!

This year, we have expanded participation to include all Chinese school students, from preschool, kindergarten, CSL, 1st to 9th grades, and even Chinese AP students.

Purpose: The primary objectives of the Chinese Storytelling Contest are to cultivate students’ interest in learning the Chinese language and culture, enhance their proficiency in delivering oral presentations in Chinese, and enable them to express themselves fluently and accurately in Chinese.

Participants: This contest is open to students in Chinese schools. If you wish to participate, please register with your class teacher . The contest will feature three groups:

1. Chinese Preschool through 2nd Grade, CSL classes
2. Chinese 4th Grade through 5th Grade classes
3. Chinese 6th Grade & Above classes

Competition Date: November 12, 2023 (Sunday)
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Location: Auditorium, Shaker Middle School, 475 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Latham, NY 12110

Suggested Topics: We encourage participants to choose short Chinese culture-related stories, such as Chinese idiom stories, short Chinese history tales, Chinese riddles, Chinese ancient poems or children’s folk songs (for young students), or lessons learned from their classes. Each class is advised to select up to 4 stories for presentation, with a maximum presentation time of 4 minutes per story.
