关于如何申请退课费的重要通知 (how to request tuition refund)

尊敬的各位家长：

如需申请退学费，请按照以下步骤进行操作：

第一步： 请发送电子邮件至学校财务部门，邮箱地址为 school.treasurer@cccalbany.org。邮件中请注明以下信息：
- 学生姓名
- 中文学校账号Family ID
- 需要取消的课程名称

第二步: 请登录学校网站， https://registration.albanychineseschool.org/albany/ 依次点击“关于我们（About Us）”和“表格（Forms）”页面，并填写“退课申请表（Withdrawal Request Form）”。

⚠️请注意： 在学期开始后的前四周内退课，可按比例退款。超过四周后，学费将不再退还。 你的退款审批后将于支票的形式十月份寄到您的地址。

To apply for a tuition refund, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Please send an email to the school's finance department at school.treasurer@cccalbany.org Please include the following information in the email:

- Student name

- Chinese school account Family ID

- Course name to be canceled

Step 2: Please log in to the school website, https://registration.albanychineseschool.org/albany/ and click on the "About Us" and "Forms" pages in turn, and fill out the "Withdrawal Request Form".

⚠️Please note: If you withdraw from a course within the first four weeks of the semester, you will receive a pro-rated refund. After four weeks, tuition will no longer be refunded. Once your request is approved, the refund check will be sent to your address in October.

‼️Please note that this Sunday (September 15) will be the last trial class for students.

‼️After the trial class, if you need to register or change the course, please go to the administrative desk in person。

‼️If you can't go to the site today (9/15) for course change or course registration, please send an email to school.academic@cccalbany.org before 12:00 tonight (9/15). Please be sure to indicate the following information in the email:

- Student's name

- Chinese school account family number

- The name of the course you want to register or want to change

⚠️Please make sure that the courses registered by students in the school account are consistent with the actual courses. If the two do not match, students will not be included in the list of the class and will not be allowed to attend classes in the next class.

Python Intermediate Programming course

📢We are excited to invite you to try out our 【Python Intermediate Programming 】class at Chinese School.

Class Details:

⏰Time:Sundays, 2:50 PM – 3:40 PM

📍Location:Classroom H227, Shaker Middle School 475 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Latham, NY 12110

This course is designed for middle-school students and above. It will cover the fundamentals of the Python programming language, progressing to advanced topics such as graphics and game design. Through illustrative examples in class and homework assignments for practice, students will build their programming skills step by step. By the end of the year, students will collaborate on creating a simple computer game, applying the knowledge they’ve gained.

💵Tuition: $150 (CCC member)
Students will learn the fundamental concepts of computer science as well as extensive knowledge and practice using the programming language Java. Students will indulge in concepts such as data types, variables, looping, methods, object oriented programming, as well as extra knowledge such as machine learning. This class is beginner friendly, meaning you don’t need experience or knowledge in programming to take the course.

The course is recommended for those in middle school or high school.

Chinese School Youth Basketball lesson

Join our Youth Basketball Class to improve your skills, boost confidence, and have fun on the court!

The Chinese School Youth Basketball program has been running since 2018 and is open to boys and girls aged 9 and older. In the past, younger children have also participated and had a great time! For young athletes, we focus on teaching proper techniques and the fundamentals of the following skills:

🏀 Dribbling and Ball Handling
🏀 Jump Stops
🏀 Triple Threat Position and Pivoting
🏀 Jab Steps
🏀 Basic Screening and Cutting

🏀 Basic Post Moves

Our emphasis is on building a strong foundation through drills and scrimmages, with a focus on fair play, sportsmanship, and, most importantly, having FUN!

Instructors:

Young Xu: An 11th grader at Guilderland High School.
Austin Cao: An 11th grader at Shaker High School.

Young and Austin have been playing basketball since 3rd grade and both were part of their school's JV basketball teams during the 2023-2024 school year. They served as Youth Basketball Teaching Assistants at Chinese School in 2021 and have been instructors there since 2022.
