中文学校每周简讯 - 12月11日

中文学校的各位家长、老师，你们好，

又是大雪纷飞时。铲了一个小时的雪，回到书桌前才意识到坐下来是多么美好的一件事。以铲雪为冬日的主要运动可能不是个好主意，靠天锻炼不一定靠得住。不过，周末中文学校从上午10点到下午4点，体育馆都是开放的，篮球队、羽毛球队一定会过足了瘾。同时也别忘了到大礼堂观摩学生汇报演出，捧个场、喝个彩。

1．    期末安排
12月14日最后一次课以及汇报演出的日程安排已经就绪，详细请参看附送的周日安排。
我们共有22个节目，其中学生表演19个，特邀嘉宾张春园老师表演3个。同学们精心排练，为的就是向父母亲们展示自己一年来努力的成果，希望大家欣赏之余，给予最热烈的掌声。另外提醒大家，第一排座位是预留给老师以及获奖人员的，请大家尽量按班级入座，以方便登台表演。

2.    青少年义工团活动
青少年义工团策划于12月23日在Shaker
Pointe（离中文学校非常近）举行一次圣诞慰老音乐会。如果你错过了前面几次义工机会，千万不要错过这次。只要你“闪亮登场”，独奏或合演，都可以体会一下掌声四起的感觉。具体时间地点如下：

3.    董事会
本学年第二次董事会因冲突延期到下学期。我会就本学年的财政预算执行情况、校务在周末的汇报演出前和大家做个简要报告。

Dear Chinese School Families,

Hope the snow storm today did not affect you too much. The last day of school is just a few days away. I’d like to remind you that there will be no culture class on this Sunday. But the gyms are available for use from 10AM till end of school. Some of the parents may be able to burn extra calorie while their kids will be performing on stage to demonstrate what they have learnt throughout the year. What I ask of you is simple: enjoy the day and have some fun.

1.    Last Day of School and Year End Celebration Party
The agenda for the celebration party has been finalized and attached. Please get familiar with the timeline. We have 19 programs to be performed by our students, and 3 programs to be performed by our special guest Chunyuan Zhang. I hope you will enjoy the show. Since we have more programs than before, we need to start the ceremony promptly at 12:45PM. Also note that the first row of seats in auditorium is reserved for teachers, award winners.  

2.    Youth Team Volunteer Activity
The Youth Team will hold its last activity this semester at Shaker Pointe on Dec. 23rd 7PM. It is a senior concert to be conducted and performed by our volunteers. The place is just a few minutes away from Chinese School. Please sign up and bring your music and love to share with the senior residents. You will be very welcomed. Since a head count is needed for better arrangement, please send a note to Ryan or Jeffrey if you intend to join.

3.    Council meeting
The council meeting was postponed at the last minute due to a conflict. I will keep you posted on school budget and operation at the ceremony on Sunday.
