I got my BS and MS degree in China and in 1990 came to America to study for my Ph.D in Environmental engineering in University of Colorado at Boulder. I had worked in a law firm doing environmental law and regulations after my graduation. Now, I am a stay at home mom and have two daughters and a wonderful husband.
I have been teaching Chinese at Chinese School for over 10 years. I have taught preschool, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th grades. I also teach Chinese at a Shenandahowa elementary school and Latham Ridge elementary school for their enrichment programs. I enjoy teaching so much. I think teaching Chinese is such a rewarding experience for me that I learnt a lot from my students.
I started teaching this class since my students were in their preschool. I grew and moved up with them every year until now they are 5th graders and plan to stick with them until graduation. I witnessed their changes, growth, making progress. We know each other very well that I know how to push them to be their best.
Although our class probably has the most students in Chinese school, we are a tight group. I have been very fortunate to have the best homeroom parent, Dang Yingjun, to help me manage many things for the past few years. We feel like families. I can not say enough thank you to Xiao Dang. At Chinese school Storytelling contests, we won first prizes every year. I love my students and am very proud of them!
