General Chemistry 化学基础课 (9th Grade & up)

Class Schedule: Sundays 1:00 PM -2:40 PM
From September 2022 to May 2023 (No classes during holidays & school breaks)
Location： Shaker Middle School
Total lessons：25

这是一门化学基础课，也是the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad 预备课程，适合对AP Chemistry 和对chemistry感兴趣的高中生参加.

Course Objectives:
Students should acquire a general knowledge of the scientific facts and laws which have been developed from chemists' observations of the natural world and should gain an understanding of the theories and models that chemists employ to explain these natural phenomena. Students should gain an appreciation of the quantitative nature of chemistry and should develop the ability to apply principles they have learned to the mathematical solution of chemical problems.

Teacher: Ya Ying Zheng 郑雅莺
Ya Ying Zheng is a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Bachelor of Art in Chemistry, a government employee in the division of childcare for two years, a teaching assistant for Chemistry for one year before becoming a full-time research assistant, and currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemistry at Suny Albany under Dr. Sheng Jia.
